Thailand Beaches

The beaches in Thailand. Thailand offers sun and beach lovers a great variety of destinations. Both the east and west coast of Thailand, you can find tropical resorts. Especially southern Thailand offers paradisiacal beaches and lively resorts. The destinations Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui, Koh Chang and Koh Pha-Ngan, are known for their beautiful sandy beaches, beautiful bays, dramatic cliffs and a great nightlife. On these islands you can relax and enjoy the white beaches, beautiful coral reefs and the impressive nature.

Who knows the now famous Bikini Beach is not the TV show Undercover Lover or completely away from the paradise beach of Temptation Island? Both programs are recorded on islands in Thailand. But for the peace and quiet there are plenty of islands of Thailand to relax.

Koh Chang

Koh Chang is the heart of an archipelago located in the Gulf of Thailand, near Cambodia. Koh Chang is a tropical haven. Being a national park, the nature of the island is well protected. The island is mountainous and wooded, with the highest point at 744 meters high mountain Jom Prasat.

The island is mostly built along the beaches (the West Coast is the closest cultivated), the rest of the island is mountainous and lies in a green forest, one of the oldest in Thailand. Koh Chang offers something for everyone, on the island you can walk and climbs past waterfalls. You can also boat and dive trips and enjoy the breathtaking beaches.

Beaches in the north to the south of Koh Chang are, Hat Sai Khao (White Sand Beach), Klong Prao, Kai Bae, Hat Ta Nam (Lonely Beach) and the more secluded beaches past Bang Bao. White Sand Beach is the largest beach and most amenities. On these beaches you will find many accommodation and dining. At most beaches you can all stay from 200 baht in a simple hut, but of course you can also stay in a comfortable resort for a few thousand baht per night.

Below is Koh Chang Koh Cunt. Here are beautiful deserted white sandy beaches.Experience the ultimate way to, in simple huts abiding, peaceful escape from the excitement. Koh Cunt is approximately 20 minutes away by boat from Koh Chang.


The islands and the mainland coast of Krabi province are ideal places for tranquility.The scenery is stunningly beautiful. There is excellent climbing, diving, snorkeling and relaxing, and a hammock is the ideal place to read a book. Also here are several beautiful beaches only accessible by boat.

Koh Samui

Koh Samui is characterized by white sandy beaches, coral reefs and fishing villages.Nature is still virtually untouched with beautiful waterfalls (where you can swim), coconut trees and rubber plantations. You can go diving, snorkeling, hiking, a ride on an elephant, or a visit to a snake or butterfly gardens.

East of Koh Samui is the most popular part of the island. On the wide beaches are the resorts of Chaweng and Lamai. You can either relax on the beach, and extensive shopping and at night the bustling nightlife. The farther west you travel, the more authentic are the many fishing villages. Again, the beaches are beautiful, and there is a wide variety of (beach) property.

Koh Pha-Ngan

This island is less touristy than the southern Koh Samui. The town of Hat Rin (the southeast) has a vibrant nightlife. The days surrounding the famous full moon parties Hat Rin is at its peak, this city is the meeting place for young people from around the world to celebrate feast. Koh Phangan is famous for the many cheap accommodations and beautiful quiet beaches. Around Hat Rin has paved roads, but further inland there are mostly dirt roads that lead into the wilderness.

Koh Tao

Koh Tao is the diving and snorkeling paradise of Thailand. It is a relatively small island, and is accessible from both the mainland and from the surrounding islands. At the moment you arrive at Sairee Beach, you are surrounded by dive shops. The corals at Koh Tao are extremely well protected, so this place is very popular. Even the water here is crystal clear and many special species live in the National Marine Park.Koh Tao is an island with green hills and endless bays. Some of these bays are only accessible by boat. On the idyllic palm beaches you can relax.

Koh Samet

Koh Samet is a tropical island more than three hours drive from Bangkok. Through you Rayong Ban Phe by boat the island.

Since 1981, a part of Koh Samet National Park. You pay an entrance to the island.Koh Samet, you will find beautiful beaches such as Hat Sai Kaewi (Diamond Beach).Hat Sai Kaewi characterized by a beautiful white sandy beaches and exciting shops, internet cafes and dive schools close by. This beach is very busy!

Furthermore, there are many small beaches Koh Samet hidden in coves. In one of the primitive restaurants on the beach, great fish.

Koh Samet has not only beautiful beaches and an overwhelming nature of the interior.The National Park can make lovely walking maken.Tijdens your tour you can hear screams gibbon monkeys in the jungle and there are giant butterflies flutter by.

Koh Samet also offers lots of activities such as diving tours, snorkeling, kayaking, jet boating trips, etc.

Koh Phi Phi

Koh Phi Phi is located about 42 km south of Krabi city. The archipelago Mu Koh Phi Phi actually consists of six islands of which Koh Phi Phi Don and Koh Phi Phi Ley are the most important. Koh Phi Phi Don is very popular holiday destination.

In 2000 the film The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio among others listed on tropical Koh Phi Phi Lee. This has a positive boost to tourism at the time.

In 2004 the islands were severely hit by the tsunami with a lot of people were killed and where a large proportion of serious damage in the islands. Repairs are still trying, but the island of Koh Phi Phi in southern Thailand is well worth a visit!

Typical of the islands of Koh Phi Phi are the huge rock formations rise from the sea and a dense hills. Koh Phi Phi is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, diving, snorkeling, hiking, visiting caves with prehistoric paintings … and more!


Phuket is one of the most famous islands in Thailand. The island lies in the Andaman Sea off the southwest coast of Thailand, and is fully restored after the tsunami. Phuket is a lively and crowded island. The dozens of limestone islands with rugged cliffs and lush vegetation in the vicinity of Phuket are well worth a visit. Moreover, there are plenty of opportunities for shopping, sports or to relax at one of the many palm-fringed beaches of the island. The many luxury (Beach) offers Western accommodation facilities in an Eastern culture.

Songkhla, Pattani and Narathiwat

These southern provinces close to Malaysia are characterized by hundreds of miles of deserted beaches. Between November and March the water is crystal clear.
